Actress Carrie Bernans may be best known for appearing in the movies “Avengers: Endgame” and “Black Panther,” and her Hollywood career is still going strong. According to IMDB, she has three projects in various stages of completion. Now, TMZ reports some devastating news that may delay any upcoming acting projects.

On New Year’s Eve, Bernans was in New York City. She and one of her friends were walking down the street unaware of what was happening nearby and what was about to happen.

A 44-year-old driver, who may have been involved in a hit and run and possibly being chased by police, was involved in a car crash that was so serious that 9 people were injured in the accident, including three police officers.

Bernans and her friend were near a food stand at the time of the incident, and when the driver of the car crashed into the food stand, Bernans was pinned under it. She ended up with multiple injuries, but she is going to be okay.

In a post on Bernans Instagram, her mother shared graphic pictures of the injuries her daughter suffered. She also explained how the injuries happened, writing, “She was involved in a traumatic incident in NYC where a man, early 40s was trying to escape a hit and run and ran into multiple cars before hitting a food stand that her friend & her were walking near. It ended up knocking her unconscious and pended her under the stand. She was under it unaware of what was happening.”

As a result of the crash, Bernans broke a few bones and chipped some of her teeth, but Bernans and her mom are both grateful that she survived. Bernans mom wrote, “This setback hasn’t deterred her belief that something remarkable is still being crafted by God.” She added, “Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she navigate this path toward recovery and new beginnings.”

Bernans mom also took the opportunity to thank “the first responders, police, strangers, my friend Katherine, family & friends who’s helped her.”
