California Winery Will Pay You $10,000 a Month to Work and Live Rent-Free in Sonoma (If You Get the Job)

Do you enjoy a glass of wine at night? Do you love to match the perfect cabernet sauvignon to your medium-rare ribeye? Do you frequent wine tastings in your town? You might want to take those interests a few steps further with a dream wine job in Sonoma Wine Country.

Get this: One California winery Murphy-Goode Winery is looking for the perfect wine-loving candidate to work for them. The job is so good it doesn’t even warrant a proper title—they just refer to it as a “really ‘Goode’ job”—ah, the puns.

Part of the reason the job doesn’t have a clear title is because the right candidate iis going to the driver for how they want the role to play out. the job will allow you to explore all things wine and really make it what it is. As the job description states, the job will “instantaneously catapult you into the wine stratosphere.”

We haven’t even gotten to the best, most insane part: The posting states that the job pays a casual $10,000 a month and lets you live in Sonoma, completely rent free, for one whole year. Oh, and you also get 30 cases of their wine for free.

In the first three months of the job, you’ll be shadowing winemaker Dave Ready Jr. and exploring all aspects of how harvesting works. After that? “The sky is your limit!” the job posting states, explaining that they’ll work with the person to help them pursue any of their passions “to help you choose your path in the wine business.”

The job description also requires that you take life “one sip at a time,” that your “preferred Swiss Army knife is a wine key,” and that you’re way more pro yoga in a winery than yoga in a studio.

So how do you apply for this job, you ask? As creative as the company is, they’re asking you to be creative with your application too—with a video. The instructions are simple: “Pull out your camera and show us why you are a really Goode candidate (creativity and humor a plus).”
