If you were a private investigator, you’d probably collect some pretty interesting tales along the way from the cases you investigate. That’s definitely true for an Australian private investigator who goes by Venus Investigations on TikTok.

While she probably has her fair share of interesting stories, there was one in particular that she described as “wild.” This was a situation where she was working for a wife who suspected her husband of cheating on her.

She didn’t have any proof that her husband was cheating, but she was suspicious because her husband had recently started taking a lot of trips to visit his family. This was unusual behavior for him.

They needed to find proof that he wasn’t really visiting his family, and that’s when they found out something really interesting. It all started when they were looking at receipts, credit card statements and shopping rewards programs.

You may not think you could catch a cheater by a rewards program, but in this case, that’s just what happened. The rewards program data showed the area where the husband had been shopping, and it wasn’t the location where he his family lived. That meant he wasn’t really visiting his family.

What was even more incriminating was that his wife knew why he was in that particular location. He did know someone there – his ex-girlfriend!

In the comments, one person wondered why this information even matters writing, “Why bother coz she doesn’t need to prove his infidelity when divorce is a no fault based system. And if she thought he was cheating he probably was.”

Venus Investigations agreed with this comment but pointed out why it does actually matter writing, “True! For a lot of people, they find it hard to trust their instincts without proof even when all the signs are there. A little evidence gives them the push to take action.”

Apparently this isn’t a one-off situation. Another person commented, “Nailed it! Caught mine the same way.”

Another person feels that this approach to investigating is pretty “low tech.” This person wrote, “very low tech… all wives track their husbands phones these days. I get accused of cheating if I park on the road in front of the gym instead of inside the gym car park.”

If you’re married, do you track your spouse’s phone? Do you think this story was a “wild” way to catch a cheating husband?
