Wendy Williams Escorted From Assisted Living By Police & Transported To The Hospital By Ambulance

Wendy Williams was taken to the hospital following a distressing plea for help from her assisted living facility.
According to a spokesperson for the New York Police Department, authorities conducted a welfare check on the former talk show host on Monday, March 10. Williams, 60, was then escorted out of the facility and transported by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation.
Reports from The New York Post suggest that earlier that morning, Williams dropped a handwritten note out of her window that allegedly read: “Help! Wendy!!” This alarming incident has raised further concerns about her well-being amid an ongoing legal battle over her conservatorship.
Since May 2022, Williams has been under a court-appointed guardianship overseeing both her finances and healthcare. Her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, has claimed that Williams is “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and legally incapacitated.” However, Williams has repeatedly disputed these claims.
“I am not cognitively impaired, but I feel like I am in prison,” Williams stated during an interview on The Breakfast Club in January. “I’m in this place with people who are in their 90s and their 80s and their 70s. …. These people, there’s something wrong with these people here on this floor. I am clearly not.”
She also alleged that she is not aware of what medications the facility is administering to her, and that she is unable to leave as she pleases due to locked elevators and restricted visitation.
Shortly after Williams’ interview, Morrissey filed a court request for a “new medical evaluation,” according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.
Williams’ medical status has been under scrutiny since she publicly revealed her 2023 dementia diagnosis. In February, she appeared in the TubiTV documentary TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy Williams, where she admitted that she could not recall the last time she saw a doctor.
“[It has been] a long while,” Williams said. “I was in Connecticut for a year and I didn’t go see anybody. I’ve been in here for six or seven months and I haven’t seen anybody.”
Later that month, during an interview on NewsNation’s Banfield, Williams described her living situation, stating, “Well, I don’t have the freedom to do virtually anything. As far as where I am, I’m on the fifth floor. They call it ‘the memory unit,’ so it’s for people who don’t remember anything.”
She continued, “I’ve met the people who live here, and I’ve been here for almost a year now, and this is very suffocating.”
Williams’ hospitalization adds to growing concerns about her condition and the ongoing legal dispute over her guardianship. As investigations continue, fans and loved ones remain hopeful for clarity and improved circumstances for the beloved television personality.
