There’s a Farm in Texas Where You Can Walk Through a Village of Over 3,000 Pumpkins

Who’s getting pump(kin)ed up for Halloween? You know, the most fang-tastic holiday of the year. It’s the most un-boo-lievable season of all. Okay, we’re stopping now…

In all seriousness, we love everything about this time of year (can you tell?)—the crisp, crunchy leaves, the chunky sweaters the dropping temperatures allows us to wear, and of course, the spooky vibe the entire month of October offers. If you think there’s a better month, well, then, you’d be wrong.

One of our favorite things to do this around Halloween? Carve a jack-o-lantern of course. Whether you’re a kid or an adult, there’s no fun like the fun that is creating your very own pumpkin masterpiece, is there?

If you’re just as much of a jack-o-lantern fanatic as we are, then you’re going to want to book yourself a flight to Texas pronto. Howell Farms, located in Dallas, is offering one of the coolest, spookiest, most awesome Halloween event that you won’t want to miss.

Now in its fourth year, and getting more popular than ever, the attraction is called “Pumpkin Nights,” and lets visitors saunter through and admire a trail of thousands—3,000 to be exact—glowing jack-o-lanterns, each one more creative than the next.

The whole trail is about a mile and a half, and each jack-o-lantern you encounter was carved in detail by hand. You’ll see everything from spooky faces to Halloween quotes, intricate art and more much. We can honestly say you’ll never seen anything quite like it and will be oohing and aahing the entire walk.

The event is held this year from October 10 through November 3, from 5:30 – 10:30 p.m. each night. Admission is just $20 for adults, $16 for youngsters age 4 through 12, $18 for seniors 60+, and free for children under 3, so it makes the perfect affordable family-friendly seasonal night out. Plus, the prices are a little better on weekdays, if you can swing it!

When you’re done admiring the jack-o-lanterns, don’t leave for home just yet. Your ticket also includes entertainment and games in Pumpkin Central, the event’s festival area. Meet a live pumpkin artist, let the kids jump in bounce houses, enjoy movie screenings like Nightmare Before Christmas, and even a seek out a pumpkin fire show.

In addition to the pumpkin trail, Pumpkin Nights also has several other areas for you to explore, including a Day of the Dead tribute, a sunken ship, and even a pumpkin pirate cove where the kiddos can dig for buried “treasure.” It just keeps getting more magical by the second!

Don’t forget to make a trip to the snack bar, offering all the fall goods—from hot chocolate for the kids to seasonal grown-up beverages for the parents. What did we tell you? Magical!
