Valerie Bertinelli Opens Up About Why She Won’t Get Married Again

Actress Valerie Bertinelli recently sat down with Access Hollywood’s Kit Hoover to discuss her new highly anticipated book, “Enough Already: Learning to Love the Way I Am Today,” which is now available for purchase.

In the interview, she touched on several topics—like how she celebrated what would’ve been Betty White’s 100h birthday (who she worked with in her past and developed a friendship with). She had some lovely words to say about what she must be doing “up there” and how she has no doubt she’s happy and fulfilled.

However, she spent a lot of time also talking about her relationship with her late husband Eddie Van Halen, which had a bit of a more depressing vibe. She was with their son, Wolfie, standing over his bedside, telling him that they loved him and they’d see him tomorrow. Apparently, she really did think that—not that he’d be gone the next day after suffering a stroke.

“You never know when that last moment is going to be, so don’t have any regrets,” she tells the audience. “Treat everyone in your life like it’s the last time you’re going to see them. You’ll never have regret about that.”

When Kit asked Valerie what she’d say to Eddie again if she got to see him, she smiled at the thought. “Hi, I’m glad you waited for me,” she said with a genuine grin.

The conversation continued to flow into the two’s relationship, which Valerie explains wasn’t always rainbows and butterflies. “Ed and I weren’t always kind to one another. We went through some rough patches,” she said. “But we always loved each other. I never hated him, I always loved him. I was angry with him, he was angry at me for a while. But we always knew we loved each other.”

Valerie goes on to talk about how though she believes Eddie truly was her soulmate—however, she’s someone who believes you can have multiple soulmates in this world. Perhaps, that there isn’t just that one person meant for you.

Does that means she’ll start dating and ever get married again? She says no—and she can guarantee you that. But why won’t she ever put herself out there again? Check out the full video below to find out!
