Newborn Twins Wail Until the Doctors Put Them Back Next to Each Other

Birth is always a miracle, but the birth of twins is truly an extra special miracle. Not only is it special for the parents to have two sweet babies to bring home, but it’s even more special for the twins who get to grow up with someone else who is their exact same age and who shares much of their DNA.

From the moment of conception, twins are together. Their bodies form next to each other in their mother’s womb. Before mom or dad can even see what their twins look like, the twins can see each other.

There must be some level of comfort having a friend and companion from the very beginning of life. They’re all cuddled together in their cozy hot tub inside mom waiting to be born.

Birth changes everything for babies. We remember taking a class at the hospital before our first baby was born, and one of the nurses teaching the class said something that stuck with us. She mentioned something about how raising a baby is a completely new experience for the parents and that it can be stressful and overwhelming at times, but that if we think it’s stressful and overwhelming adapting to being new parents, just imagine how stressful and overwhelming it must be for the tiny baby who is experiencing life in the outside world for the very first time.

It really must be quite overwhelming for tiny babies when they’re first born. Everything is new. The world probably seems very bright and very loud.

When twins are born, we would think that it would ease the stressful, overwhelming feelings a tad to know that your twin is right there with you experiencing everything with you. There has to be some level of comfort in that.

When Lisa Lyman gave birth to twin boys, Weston and Caleb, her husband and the twins’ father, Dane Lyman, was right there ready to record the boys’ first few moments of life. Lisa wasn’t able to see exactly what was going on moments after her twins were born, but Dane captured a sweet moment that the couple still cherishes.

The doctors and nurses were fussing with Weston and Caleb as doctors and nurses do after babies are born in a hospital. There are hospital bracelets to put on. Weights to be taken. Diapers to put on. The list goes on.

One nurse attempted to pick up one of the babies, momentarily separating the twins. Both boys cried, wailing unhappily. The nurse set the baby back down so that the twins were once again right next to each other, able to see and feel each other, and the crying instantaneously stopped.

We don’t know if we would’ve believed this if we hadn’t seen it for ourselves, but this special moment shows so clearly the special bond between twins. See for yourself in the video below.
