There’s a Glowing Pumpkin Trail in Kentucky With Over 5,000 Professionally Carved Jack-O’-Lanterns

Ah, fall. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, isn’t it? The leaves are changing, the air is getting crisp, and people are carving pumpkins left and right. And if you like to participate in the latter, then you might appreciate this awesome seasonal activity located in Louisville, Kentucky: The Louisville Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular.

Named one of the best fall activities in the Midwest, the Louisville Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular is located in Iroquois Park spans on about a quarter of a mile of wooded trail. Come celebrate Halloween all month long as you walk along the trail, you’ll pass thousands–5,000 to be exact–beautifully illuminated professionally carved jack o’lanterns. Additionally, there are more than 100 pumpkins carved into various works for art. 

It’s a pretty magical site to see, and is fun for literally anyone. Its not too scary for the little ones if you want to have a family outing, or it’s even a great date night activity for couples. People can’t get enough of it. And if you don’t take it from us, take it from their high score on Yelp and other trip reviewer sites.

For a little bit of background, while the original Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular took place in Oxford, Massachusetts, this upcoming event will be the sixth year it has been held in Louisville. Each year, there themes and music are better than the last.

Mark your calendars for this awesome event, which runs from October 1 through November 1 this year. The show runs via drive-thru this year, rain or shine, with gates opening at dusk, or a little after 7 p.m. The show closes at 11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
