Make This Smooth, Easy, Healthy Dip And Totally Win Your Next Party

There’s a centuries-old, healthy dip sweeping its way through all our parties and special events, and we couldn’t be happier about it. Can you guess what it is? What else could it be but hummus! This traditional Middle Eastern dip is the perfect accompaniment to veggies, pita chips, and pretty much anything else you can imagine, and there are more varieties than you might think! Cooking Light demonstrates how easy it is to make.

You’ll Need

– Two 15.5 ounce cans chickpeas (or garbanzo beans), no-salt-added, rinsed and drained
– 2 garlic cloves, crushed
– 1/2 cup water
– 1/4 cup tahini (sesame seed paste)
– 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
– 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
– 3/4 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

All the equipment you’ll need is a food processor! How easy is that? Best of all, there are all kinds of variations you can play around with: feta-baked, white bean and roasted garlic, or – my favorite! – edamame!
