Tom Hanks is undoubtedly one of Hollywood’s most beloved actors. He’s a household name who has starred in epic dramas, hilarious comedies, and touching love stories.

But while we all may know that Tom is a talented actor, no one had any idea he was such a passionate pageant dad.

Sorry to disappoint any pageant fans, but we’re joking, of course.

When Tom Hanks came on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Kimmel a few years ago, he allowed the cameras to come into his home, where he was satirically coaching is daughter Sophie for an upcoming pageant. The Miss Ultimate Sexy Baby pageant, to be exact.

The bit on The Tonight Show is meant to be a spoof on the popular show Toddlers & Tiaras, where we get an intimate look into the (often dramatic) life of pageant families.

And the Hanks family (because, yes, Sophie is really Tom’s daughter) hits the nail on the head! The spoof is hilarious – and between his sexy strut, his weirdly good baton twirling, and the arguments Tom gets into with his “pageant daughter,” we’re honestly believing Tom Hanks may secretly be Miss America.

To prepare for Miss Ultimate Sexy Baby Nevada, Tom trains with Sophie (our favorite part is when he spritzes her with water when she tries to go for a cookie yelling, “SWIM SUIT COMPETITION!”), and even does her makeup for her.

A.k.a. Sparkle time.

And when her wig comes? I literally burst out laughing.

This is all before Miss Ultimate Sexy Baby Nevada even begins which, of course, is the most hilarious ending to the bit. While Sophie performs, Tom Hanks does all the moves with her, in sync, out in the audience with the other parents. Flawlessly.

Needless to say, this is all one big spoof on the popular reality show, and the Tonight Show writers totally nailed the joke.

But, in all seriousness, Tom Hanks would be the best pageant dad EVER.
