You Have To See the Retractable Stairs in This Apartment

GoDownsize

In Amsterdam, there is an apartment building called Zoku. Zoku consists of 100 tiny apartments for downsized living. Zoku was created for nomadic people who move from city to city, or people who are traveling for work or pleasure. The micro-apartments can be rented for short-term or long-term stays and even provide access to a shared working space, where everyone can network and conduct professional business. Wondering what these amazing tiny apartments look like? Watch the video below for a full tour – you’ll be considering renting a micro-apartment of your own!

While there’s a lot to love about the tiny apartments in Zoku, the most impressive feature is without a doubt the retractable staircase.

At first glance, you think there’s just a bar pressed up against a bookshelf – to be honest, I didn’t even really notice it at first. But when you pull the bar, a full staircase comes out of the wall!

The staircase leads to the loft area, which is where the bed, toilet, and tiny kitchen are. The entire loft area is hidden by blinds which, when closed, completely hide everything from sight.
