Before the SAG/AFTRA actors strike, actress Tiffany Haddish, who stars in the Disney movie “Haunted Mansion,” sat down for multiple interviews about the film based on the iconic Disneyland ride. While she seems genuinely excited about the film and the part she got to play in it, she didn’t share personal details of her life during most of these interviews. One was different.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Haddish opened up about some very personal struggles she has had in her life, such as what really led to her breakup with rapper Common and her struggle to have a baby.
During the interview, Haddish answered a phone call from her doctor’s office. She tells the nurse on the phone that one week earlier she had a miscarriage. This was her 8th miscarriage. She didn’t let the bad news slow her down. She still attended parties and kept her previously scheduled engagements.

The nurse on the phone wanted to know if Haddish was okay, which prompted the actress to respond, “Well, I’m going to be honest with you. This would be my eighth one. I’ve got a uterus shaped like a heart. It just won’t keep anything in.”
Basically, it seems that Haddish is used to having miscarriages and has become slightly numb to the sad news, not all that surprised by it anymore.
Because she is struggling to have a child of her own, Haddish has also considered adoption. In 2022, she took parenting classes, seriously considering adoption. With her busy career, she’s undecided about whether it would be better to have a newborn baby of her own or to adopt a young child who needs a forever home.
Haddish doesn’t even like to talk about her miscarriages with her friends because she doesn’t want them to feel sorry for her or treat her any differently. There’s only one friend she confides in. She explained, “I don’t want people saying: ‘Are you okay? Are you all right?’ Like a wounded animal, I just rather go in a cave by myself. Lick my wounds.”
