In 1980, a young couple named Tina Gail Linn Clouse and Harold Dean Clouse Jr had recently moved to Houston, Texas, from Florida. They had a baby named Holly. It sounds like the beginning of a perfect family life, but that life was not to be.
In 1980, Tina, Harold and Holly went missing. Their parents and family members never heard from them again. They didn’t give up hope of one day finding out where they were or what happened to them.
Fast forward to 2021, and Identifinders International used genetic genealogy technology to identify the remains of a couple that had been discovered in the woods in Texas in 1981. The couple had been known as Jane Doe and John Doe all these years. Now, we know that the couple is actually Tina and Harold.
The Linn and Clouse families were notified about the discovery and were finally able to properly grieve for the loss of their family members. Although they were devastated to find out that their family members who had gone missing had actually been murdered and left in the woods, they were grateful to be able to finally have closure.
Although Jane Doe and John Doe were finally identified as Tina and Harold, that still left one big mystery. What happed to baby Holly? She was not found with the remains of her parents. Could it be possible that she’s still alive?
Amazingly, Holly has been found alive. She is now 42 years old, and she lives in Oklahoma. Her biological families have been notified of this discovery, and they have had the chance to meet her.
In a statement, Holly’s aunt, Cheryl Clouse, explained, “It was so exciting to see Holly. I was so happy to meet her for the first time. It is such a blessing to be reassured that she is alright and has had a good life. The whole family slept well last night.”
The investigation of the murders of Holly’s parents is ongoing. If you have any information that could help the investigation, please contact the Texas Attorney General’s Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit at coldcaseunit@oag.texas.gov.
