The secret to these tasty cheeseburgers is all about the buns. You’ll Need

– 2 tablespoons soy sauce
– 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
– 2 tablespoons mirin
– 2 tablespoons sake
– 2 teaspoons cornstarch
– 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
– 2 burger patties
– Lettuce and tomatoes
– Cheese
– Salt and pepper
– 2 to 3 cups cooked sticky rice
– 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch

How To

  1. Combine the soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar and grated ginger in a saucepan. Cook on medium heat until just boiling. Turn off the heat and set aside.
  2. Combine the water and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, and mix well.
  3. Add the cornstarch to the soy sauce mixture and cook on medium heat, stirring until the sauce is thick. Turn off the heat and set to the side.
  4. Combine the hot cooked rice and 1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch in a bowl and mix well.
  5. Divide the rice into 4 balls and place in plastic wrap. Mold with your hands into flat cylinders and set aside.
  6. Cook the burgers to your desired doneness. Top with teriyaki sauce and cheese. Put the burger together with the rice patties, adding in your lettuce, tomato and your other favorite toppings.
