Woman Goes Viral at Costco After Throwing a Temper Tantrum While Being Asked to Wear Mask

It seems like every supermarket that has a mask policy in place gets hit with a Karen at some point or another.

Not sure what we mean? In today’s slang, an entitled, privileged woman is referred to as a “Karen.” And a lot of these Karens show up at a store without wearing a mask, even though we’re in the middle of a pandemic.

For example, meet the woman who claimed to have a breathing problem in Trader Joe’s and refused to put on a mask, or the woman who tried to get a Starbucks employee fired after he asked her to wear a mask (and failed miserably). Then there was the supermarket ‘Karen’ who went viral for throwing groceries all over the floor when asked to put on her mask.

The latest maskless Karen? The grown woman who legit threw a temper tantrum just the way a child would in Costco when she was asked to put a mask on.

It started when an employee simply asked her to put on a mask, as that is the store’s policy. “I just need you to put that on for now while you’re in the building. That’s all,” she told the woman. “Just temporarily while you’re in here, and then you can take it right back off.”

Seems like a pretty simple request, but not for this woman. “I will not,” the woman told the employee.

When the customer was asked to leave and as the employee attempts to escort her out the door, the woman sits on the floor in the middle of the large warehouse.

The employee continues to try to reason with her to leave in as nice of a way she can.

“Can I get you a chair? Outside? There’s a place to sit,” she asks her.

Her response: “I am an American. I have constitutional rights.”

The reason masks are required at so many stores is because they’ve been proven to work to limit the spread of coronavirus. If you’re interested in learning more about how wearing a mask works against not wearing a mask, check out this cool experiment one scientist did.

Additionally, now scientists are claiming there’s reason to believe coronavirus is airborne, which means masks may help even more than once thought.

In the meantime, you can watch this woman’s tantrum in the video below.

What do you think of all of these people protesting (aka freaking out) when told to wear a mask in a store? How do you feel about wearing masks in public spaces?
