Target and Walmart Announce Their Own Deals on Amazon Prime Day

One of the best days of the year is right around the corner: Amazon Prime Day!

Amazon Prime Day, beginning October 13,  is essentially when Prime members can get a bunch of good things from Amazon at a discounted rate. The idea is to start your holiday shopping early—over a month before Black Friday.

Amazon will be offering more than one million deals—yes, a million—over the course of two whole days. You’ll be able to find amazing deals on anything from TV to laptops, headphones to speakers, Xboxes to Play Stations, instant pots to stand mixers, and much, much more. Also, if you’re in need of any  Amazon devices, such as the Echo or Kindle, Amazon Prime Day is definitely a good time.

It’s truly a great way to get gifts for everyone in your list well before the hustle and bustle of the holidays, without even having to lift more than a finger!

While Amazon used to be the only retailer who participated in Prime Day, since, well, it’s their holiday, other retailers have started to join in on the fun. The more the merrier, right?

In fact, Target and Walmart have decided that this year they will offer their own deals overlapping the same days as Amazon Prime Day. By doing so, they hope to limit huge in-store crowds as we inch closer to the holidays.

Target and Walmart’s items on sale will mostly consist of electronics, beauty items, toys, kitchen products and more. Target’s sales will run the exact same days as Amazon Prime Day deals, and Walmart will be rolling out their sales Sunday, October 11 at 7 p.m. EST through October 15.

Target in particular has also announced that they will also be offering Black Friday pricing throughout thee entire month of November (much earlier and longer than usual) as well as an extended price-match policy.

“This year, in a holiday season unlike any other, we know it’s more important than ever for our guests to get great deals in a convenient and safe shopping environment,” said Target’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer Christina Hennington.

“By kicking off our holiday deals earlier than ever, offering Black Friday pricing throughout the full month of November, and extending our Price Match Guarantee, we’re letting guests know they don’t need to wait or face the crowds to get the best deals, all with no membership fees required,” Hennington continued.
