When it comes to comfy summer footwear, sandals and flip-flops are where it’s at. For the pool or the beach or even running errands around town, flip-flops are our go-to slip-ons. It’s too hard messing with laces or buckles while holding a child in your arms and balancing a bag on your shoulder.

Some comfy slip-ons have more style than others. Sure, we could go with Crocs. They actually have some stylish and trendy looks that mix comfort and practicality with a more fashionable vibe, but we didn’t grow up wearing Crocs.

Don’t you love it when styles that you loved when you were younger make a comeback? It’s like you get the thumbs up from the fashionistas of the world that’s it’s okay to rock the fashions that remind you of happy, carefree times with your BFFs before kids and before a mortgage.

What’s even better is when the styles that make a comeback are ones that are actually pretty practical with our current lifestyle, like the one where we don’t have free hands to tie our shoes.

If you’re a child of the ‘90s, get ready, get set, get your platform sandals. Did you have a pair of these, or was that just us? We had actually completely forgotten all about this fashion trend until we saw the Instagram posts from Steve Madden announcing the comeback. It was like memories flooded back, and we can distinctly remember wearing shoes very similar to this years ago.

If you want a new twist on this retro look, try out the flip-flop version of this thong sandal. It’s the same as the original slide but in a flip-flop. It comes in all black, all orange, or choose a silver upper with a black platform sole.
