Here’s How to Easily Turn Those Starbucks Bottled Drinks Into Actual Frappuccinos

There’s a lot you can learn from perusing TikTok videos. If you’re not on this popular social media platform yet, you should be. We swear it’s not just for teenagers making up dance moves.

TikTok is great for showing us little tips on how to make life even better, especially during quarantine. It’s especially good for finding innovative recipes, or ways to spruce up your meals. The world has discovered everything from how to make chocolate chip cookie cereal to whipped coffee—and it doesn’t end there.

One TikToker has just gone viral for showing us how to make an actual Frappuccino out of those Starbucks Frappuccino bottled drinks.

You know the ones we’re talking about—the glass bottles that hold the creamy coffee goodness that you’ve been buying since you were in high school. Also called “bottled chilled lattes” or “cold mochas,” typically we buy this drink from the Starbucks shelf, pop it open, and chug it all too quickly.

While delicious as is, there’s actually a right and a wrong way to drink this bottled Frappuccino—and the way we just described—the way you’ve likely been drinking them for years?—that’s the wrong way. At least, according to TikToker @naatalie_lee.

First off, let’s first establish what a Frappuccino even is, which will help us realize why this is not the correct way. According to Wikipedia, “Frappuccino is a trademarked brand of the Starbucks Corporation for a line of iced, blended coffee drinks. It consists of coffee or crème base, blended with ice and other various ingredients, usually topped with whipped cream and flavored syrups.”

When you first read that description, it’s easy to miss the “iced” and “blended” part. But that’s key! While those bottles are technically called “Frappuccinos,” they don’t come iced or blended. That’s because, like we’ve said, you’ve been drinking them wrong.

@naatalie_lee had heard about a hack that actually makes these drinks real Frappuccinos. And it’s so simple that it’s going to blow your mind.

All you need to do is have the willpower to wait until you get home with your bottled Frap. Then, you just put it in the freezer for a few hours. When you take it out, shake it up, and voila: you’ve got yourself a blended iced Frappuccino—like a real one.
