Actor Christian Oliver is best known for his role in the film “Speed Racer,” but he acted in many other projects, including “The Good German,” “Wrong Turn,” and “Valkyrie.” According to IMDB, he starred in film and TV projects in both the United States and in his native country of Germany.
On New Year’s Day, Oliver posted a picture of a beautiful beach with text over the image reading, “Let Love Rule. Wishing all of you the best for 2024!” He captioned the post, “Greetings from somewhere in paradise! To community and love …2024 her we come !”
Tragically, that was the last time Oliver will ever post on social media, and he will never return home from “somewhere in paradise.” He and his two daughters died in a plane crash in the Caribbean.
On January 4, 2024, The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force shared an update on their Facebook page about a plane crash that occurred. They explained that the plane was “a small, one (1) engine aircraft,” and it “crashed into the sea” “midday.”
There were a total of four people on the plane, which was heading for St. Lucia. All of them died. That included Oliver, who was 51 years old, and his two daughters, 10-year-old Madita Klepser, and 12-year-old Annik Klepser. The other person on the plane was the pilot, who was an American named Robert Sachs.
According to the statement, the plane “experienced difficulties and plummeted into the ocean” just “moments after takeoff.” Local fishermen and divers were the first to reach the crash and arrived to help before the police arrived.
It is not yet known what happened to cause the plane to crash, and “post-mortem examinations are expected to be carried out to ascertain the cause of death.”
