Sonic the Hedgehog Has Undergone a Drastic Makeover in a New Trailer Since Fans Roasted the Original One

When a movie studio announces that they’re going to make a movie starring a popular character, and when this popular character has millions of fans, all of those fans anxiously wait to hear and see more. They want to see the first images and trailers from the movie. They want to know what to expect, and they really, really don’t want to be disappointed.

Sometimes studios miss the mark. Remember all the backlash after the first glimpses of Will Smith as Aladdin in the live-action version? On the opposite end of the spectrum, Tom Hanks as Mister Rogers is spot on.

When fans of Sonic, probably the most famous hedgehog of all time, heard there was going to be a live-action movie, you can bet they were wondering what exactly a CGI Sonic would look like. Of course, they wanted it to look exactly like the Sonic they all remembered, but when Paramount released the first movie trailer, they were in for a surprise.

This doesn’t always happen, but the first trailer for the “Sonic the Hedgehog” movie received so much negative feedback that Paramount actually decided to make some changes. They didn’t want to disappoint the fans.

Sonic fans are raving in the comments on YouTube and so very impressed that a movie studio actually listened to their feedback. Many of them weren’t planning on seeing the movie after the first trailer, but now, they almost feel obligated to see it since Paramount listened to them.

Originally, the movie was set to release in November 2019, but the new release date is set for February 2020. That makes complete sense since animation takes time, and the animators for this movie definitely had their work cut out for them with the redesign of the main character.

Are you a Sonic fan? Are you excited to see this movie in February? What do you think of the redesign?
