Singer Macy Gray Sparks Outrage Over Comments Made On Piers Morgan

Piers Morgan Uncensored

Macy Gray went on Piers Morgan Uncensored and talked about several controversial topics. The first topic they discussed is what she thinks of the American flag. Gray wants to change the flag. She believes it’s time for the flag to get an update so that it reflects America today.

Another topic they discussed was the issue of race. Gray feels that America is less racist today than it was when she was a child in the ’60s. She and Morgan agreed that racism exists but the majority of Americans aren’t racist.

The issue of race quickly turned to the topic of gender identity. Morgan said to Gray, “If I asked you what a woman is, what would you say?”

Gray responded, “A human being with boobs.” She added, “And a vagina.”

Then Morgan turned the subject to transgender rights when it comes to sports. He said, “I support all trans rights to fairness and equality, but not when you have people born to obvious physical superior bodies transitioning and then trashing the women at their sport.”

Gray responded, “I totally agree.” She added, “As a woman, just because you go change your parts doesn’t make you a woman.” She continued, “I know that for a fact.” She explained that she is fine with using preferred pronouns but “that doesn’t make you a woman just because I call you a her and just because you got a surgery.”

After Morgan’s comments, he warned her that she might get “attacked” for her comments about the transgender community. He said, “The cancel culture mob comes for them.”

Gray said, “I know,” but she stood by her statements. She added, “But it’s the truth.” She continued, “I don’t think you should be called transphobic just because you don’t agree…There’s a lot of judgement and throwing stones at people for just saying what it is.”

Morgan was right, and Gray has received a lot of backlash because of her comments on his show. In response, she tweeted, “I got nothing but love for LGBT+ and transgender communities. I’ve been a supporter since day one and never a fake one. My statement on Piers Morgan was GROSSLY misunderstood. I respect everyone’s right to be whoever they [wanna] be.”

She has taken down that tweet, but in a statement to Billboard, she explained, “I have nothing but love for the LGBTQ+ and transgender community and have been a supporter since day one. My statement on Piers Morgan was grossly misunderstood. I don’t hate anyone. I respect everyone’s right to feel comfortable in their bodies and live their own truth.”
