Slipknot’s Sid Wilson, who is romantically linked to former reality star Kelly Osbourne, suffered some serious injuries recently that landed him in the hospital.
On Friday August 23, 2024, Wilson posted a video to Instagram that was taken after he arrived at the hospital. His hands were shaking as he held his phone to show the camera his burns.
Wilson explained, “I had an explosion in my face.” While that is shocking news that sounds quite horrifying, Wilson seemed in good spirits. He said, “I’m okay. I’m going to be okay, but I did have some serious burns to my face, my arms.”
Wilson showed the camera some of his burns and said that he is “singed everywhere. Eyebrows are singed. Mouth is blistered. Arm’s pretty bad. Both my arms.”
He told one of the hospital workers, “I’m burned all the way around my arms.”
While his condition is serious, Wilson is also serious about making a full recovery as quickly as possible. He said, “I’m gonna be alright you guys, and I don’t care what it takes, I will see you on tour.”
According to an update posted to Slipknot’s official Instagram page, Wilson is still planning to perform with the band next weekend at Rocklahoma.
During Wilson’s video, he remained in good spirits. For example, when he was asked if he was allergic to anything he joked, “I’m allergic to fire apparently.”
Osbourne could be heard in the background telling Wilson to get off Instagram, so he finally ended the video after telling his fans, “They’re dressing my wounds. It’s going to be a little bit of a journey here.”
While Wilson seems to be downplaying the seriousness of his condition, Osbourne wasn’t quite as calm about it.
According to Y! Entertainment, Osbourne expressed frustration and concern in a video posted to her Instagram stories. In the video, which was taken in the emergency room, she said, “This is why you don’t f–k with burn piles.” She added that Wilson “literally set himself on fire…exploded everything.”
