Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Son Shows Off His Muscles and Channels His Father in His Classic Pose
Earlier this week, Joseph Baena, the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, posted a photo to his Instagram page that instantly went viral. In it, the 21-year-old posed for a gym snapshot, an all-too-common occurrence these days– except that he managed to do so in a way that 99.9999% of us could never pull off…
Pretty impressive stuff, right? To refresh your memory, here’s Arnold’s original pose, which was shot back in 1976 during the reign of his 6th Mr. Olympia title.
So, the only real difference here is that the “decoy pictured on the left is just a *little* smaller than the celebrated original.
Oh, and also that it was posted on Instagram, of course. Instagram–or the Internet, for that matter–definitely wasn’t a ‘thing’ when the bodybuilder rose to fame back in the ’70s!
But, just because his pops couldn’t take advantage of the press, doesn’t mean young Joseph Baena shouldn’t. After all, Schwarzenegger’s son has gained a ton of success from the social media platform. As of today, the 21-year-old has nearly 25,000 followers. Not bad for a college kid!
Joseph Baena’s rising star
The public was first introduced to the “mini Arnold Schwarzenegger” back in 2011 when news came out of the movie star’s affair with his longtime housekeeper, Patty Baena. Although the event was a scandalous one at the time, it seems that all parties have repaired their relationships.
In a post commemorating Schwarzenegger’s birthday last summer, Baena showed some love to his beloved dad. It looks like they celebrated at–where else?–the gym!
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it seems as though Baena is planning on following in his famous dad’s footsteps, as he has his own aspirations of making it big in Hollywood.
The young bodybuilder kicked off his career back in 2016 when he appeared in a short film that recreated one of Schwarzenegger’s most iconic scenes from the action classic, Terminator 2.
Though the short is currently the only acting credit he has to his name, Baena has listed “acting” in his Instagram bio–but then again, who hasn’t?
But, all jokes aside, we actually think that he might really end up making a name for himself in Hollywood. After all, it’s not all that often that you spot a 21-year-old who has the physique and charisma of a young Arnold Schwarzenegger. This father and son duo truly are one-of-a-kind!
