Savannah Chrisley Says Breakup with Boyfriend Was Fueled By His Estranged Wife’s Shocking Murder Plot

Savannah Chrisley is opening up about her recent breakup with ex-boyfriend Robert Shriver.
In an exclusive preview from the April 15 episode of her podcast Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley, titled “I Got Dumped,” PEOPLE revealed the couple had ended their relationship after nearly two years together.
“It’s been about a month and a half since Robert and I broke up,” Chrisley shared. “So there it is. Robert and I broke up on March 6. Not that I’m keeping track of dates or anything, but I have taken a lot of time to process things and truly grieve the loss of the relationship that I thought was gonna be where I was for the rest of my life.”
In the newly released episode, Chrisley offers more insight into the breakup, partly attributing the split to issues involving Robert’s estranged wife, Lindsay Shriver, who is currently awaiting trial for an alleged murder-for-hire plot against him. Chrisley began dating Robert in September 2023—just months after the alleged plot surfaced—said her ex should have resolved his personal challenges before entering into a relationship.
Chrisley said she’s reluctant to give Lindsay Shriver the attention she seeks but believes it’s necessary to acknowledge her role in the situation. She expressed that she may never forgive Lindsay for the pain caused to Robert and his children, and believes the relationship with Robert would not have ended if it weren’t for the turmoil Lindsay created.
“She absolutely destroyed a great man when it comes to his heart and his life, just all of it,” the 27-year-old said about Lindsay. “She destroyed him and he should have done a lot of work on himself before he and I met. He deserved to get to work through all of that pain and trauma so that he could move on with his life in a healthy manner.”
According to earlier reports from PEOPLE, Lindsay Shriver was arrested in the Bahamas in July 2023 after being accused of plotting to kill her ex-husband, former NFL player Robert Shriver, with the help of her then-boyfriend Terrance Bethel and his friend Farron Newbold Jr. All three were charged with conspiracy to commit murder and have pleaded not guilty. Her trial is set to begin in August.
Chrisley noted that life felt peaceful while Lindsay was in custody, but said the chaos returned as soon as she was released.
She shared that Robert, who has three sons with his estranged wife, felt overwhelmed by the tension between her and his ex, ultimately finding the situation “too much” to handle.
The reality star said she plans to stay single for a while and has decided not to date anyone who isn’t officially divorced. She noted that Robert filed for divorce in April 2023 but has made little progress since. Despite the breakup, she remains in contact with Robert and his three sons.
When I got into a relationship with Robert, I also got into a relationship with his kids, and I vowed to always show up, always be there, and I was not gonna be another disappointment for them, because they’ve had a lot,” Chrisley emphasized. “And I’m going to keep that promise. When they call, I’m going to answer. If they need me to show up, I will be there.”
