The Real Housewives of Potomac community is grieving the loss of a cherished friend. Matt Byars, known for his appearances on multiple seasons of the Bravo series as Karen Huger’s assistant and trusted confidant, has passed away at the age of 37.
The U.S. Sun has exclusively revealed that Matt Byars died by suicide on November 21, 2024, according to Maryland’s Chief Medical Examiner’s Office. Per The U.S. Sun the spokesperson said, “He died of multiple blunt force injuries. The manner is suicide.”
Matt Byars’ friend and Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga shared her grief over his passing in a heartfelt social media post. “Matt-Why didn’t you tell me Matt? I’m heartbroken. Your personality was infectious. Your jokes- you always had them. You should have done stand up- I know it was your dream. My heart hurts Matt . Because earlier this week you didn’t tell me. I know life was tough- I know-

Though Matt appeared in numerous episodes of The Real Housewives of Potomac, he is perhaps best remembered for the iconic Season 3 scene where he supported Karen Huger during her press conference addressing rumors about her finances with the cast. Karen has not yet publicly commented on Matt’s passing.
