Rapper And Social Media Influencer Passed Away At 27

Rapper and social media influencer Lucas Coly has reportedly died at age 27, his manager made a post claiming the artist died; but, then changed the post.

The rapper’s manager posted the claims to Instagram on October 3 with a photo of Coly. He wrote,

“Rest in peace @iamlucascoly I love you bro. My heart is ripped in half. Wait for me up there ,” he originally wrote in the post, per Us Weekly. However, later, he edited the post to only include a heart emoji.

The manager of Coly’s I Discover Stars Entertainment, whose name was not provided, also shared another post featuring the hitmaker posing with a friend.

“Being your manager was one of the reasons I stayed here,” his manager wrote before removing the post.

“There’s a hole in my heart right now Lucas. We used to speak on our struggles all the time but smile for the fans.”

Us Weekly reported that Coly’s longtime manager, in a now-deleted Facebook post, asked fans to keep Coly’s girlfriend, Amber, in their prayers.

“Amber will confirm the news when she is ready,” the mystery manager posted. “Please give her time to process and heal. When the funeral arrangements are set.”

Coly was born in France and immigrated to the United States at age 8, Coly rose to fame on Vine a decade ago. He gained widespread recognition for his song “I Just Wanna” and stood out by frequently incorporating French into his music, being fluent in the language. Coly first gained fame on Vine over 10 years ago with videos in both English and French, became well-known for his song “I Just Wanna.” He has amassed over 1 million followers on Instagram and half a million subscribers on YouTube. No cause of death has been revealed at this time.
