Rami Malek Has Been Announced As the Newest James Bond Villain for Daniel Craig’s Last Outing As 007

Since the last James Bond film was released, fans have been wishing and speculating on who they want to see in the next go ‘round. Daniel Craig and Idris Elba’s names were tossed around to play world’s most famous spy, but what about the villain?

It’s now been confirmed that Rami Malek will be playing 007’s foil in the 25th movie of the franchise. Fresh off an Oscar win for his performance in Bohemian Rhapsody, Malek promises to deliver in this new role. Cast announcements were made today but since he couldn’t be in Jamaica in person, he recorded a video message.

According to a press release, the movie will see Bond leaving retirement to square up with Malek’s character:

“Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica.  His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”

This will be Daniel Craig’s last run as James Bond, and the film will have the character traveling all over the world, including stops in Italy and London. To get a peek at some of the other cast members and to hear Malek’s message, watch the clip below.
