Per a report by The Telegraph, Princess Anne, is experiencing memory issues following her accident on Sunday. According to the publication, the memory loss problems are expected to be only a temporary problem.

Princess Anne, King Charles’s sister, has been hospitalized. It has been reported she suffered a concussion, and minor injuries, after an ‘incident’ at her country estate. The Princess is 73 years-old.

The Gatcombe Park estate incident occurred late Sunday. Apparently, The Princess was walking around her property when the accident occurred. Ambulances arrived at her estate. They treated her, and transferred her to the hospital. Her family were present, and her spouse Sir Timothy Laurence stayed by her side.

Princess Anne’s exact injury has not been reported yet. However, The Associated Press wrote that her head injuries matched what potential impact from a horse’s legs or head could be.

Buckingham Palace has issued a statement

“Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation. The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole royal family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery.”

Princess Anne is an accomplished horsewoman, having competed in the 1976 Montreal Olympics as part of the British equestrian team. She won a gold medal in 1971 and two silver medals in 1975 at the European Eventing Championships. Recently, she rode horseback during Trooping the Colour on June 15. This is an official birthday celebration for King Charles.

Unfortunately, Princess Anne will have to adjust her schedule, and take time to recover. She will have to miss a Japanese state visit which is scheduled to start June 25. It is said that Princess Anne is one of the hardest working royals. She rarely misses her royal engagements.

“On doctors’ advice, Her Royal Highness’s engagements for the week ahead will be postponed. Her Royal Highness sends her apologies to any who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result. The Japanese state visit will go ahead as planned, though sadly Her Royal Highness will be unable to attend the state banquet tomorrow,” the Palace spokesperson said.

The palace representative believes Princess Anne should be back at home sometime this week, and she is being kept in the hospital as a “precautionary measure.”
