Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Have Stunned People With Their Offer To Queen Elizabeth

To say that Meghan Markle marrying Prince Harry has caused drama amongst the royal family is putting it lightly. First, there were numerous tabloid articles that treated Meghan quite a bit harsher than her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. Then, the couple shocked the royal family and the world by announcing that they were stepping down as senior members of the royal family.

Meghan and Harry explained their truth in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, and they dropped quite a few bombshells, including accusing the royal family of racism, and Meghan described not being allowed to leave her home. She said she felt like Ariel in the movie “The Little Mermaid,” because like the mermaid, her voice had been taken away from her.

Despite the drama, it seemed that the couple was still on speaking terms with Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. According to Harry, before Prince Philip’s passing, his grandparents would video chat with their grandson, Archie. Yet, living in California and repeatedly talking to the press about private family matters didn’t go over well with The Queen. The Queen’s official stance was that the family would work things out privately.

Harry has visited his family several times since relocating to California, but Meghan has remained at home. This was due to the fact that she was pregnant with the couple’s second child, a daughter who they named Lillibet. Meghan was not able to join her husband when he attended Prince Philip’s funeral. She also didn’t attend the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue.

Now, it seems that Meghan is ready to join her husband on a trip across the pond. In fact, in a stunning turn of events, Meghan has actually requested a meeting with The Queen. According to The Sun, the couple would like to have their daughter, Lillibet, christened at Windsor Castle.

A source told The Sun, “Harry and Meghan have made this offer but a lot of people are shocked by the sheer nerve of it. They may genuinely want to see the Queen but it’s breathtaking given what they’ve put her through this year.” The source added, “Her Majesty’s staff have not responded so far. In fact there has also been discussion about Christmas — and whether an invitation should be sent to Harry and Meghan, after they spurned one last year.”

Even though the royal family is shocked by Meghan’s request and has yet to respond, that doesn’t mean that The Queen won’t end up granting the request. According to the source, “The Queen is still very fond of Harry, and would love to see Lilibet and her brother Archie.”
