Popular Rapper Passed Away Hours After Collapsing On stage

Rapper Fatman Scoop passed away at 53. His exact cause of death is unknown. He has collaborated with music industry heavy hitters like  Mariah Carey, Timbaland and Missy Elliott.

During a performance on August 30 in Hamden, Connecticut the artist suffered a medical emergency. He was transported to a local hospital per a statement shared by  Mayor Lauren Garrett.

TMZ shared a video of the rapper collapsing onstage at about 8:30 p.m.

Scoop’s manager Michael Birch shared the rapper’s death on August 31 on Instagram.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts I announce the passing of Isaac Freeman III, Known professionally as Fatman Scoop. You taught me how to be the Man I am today. I Love you Scoop, Thank you so much for everything you gave to me. Rest In Peace.”

Birch added on Instagram, I am honestly lost for words… You took me all over the world and had me performing alongside you on some of the biggest and greatest stages on this planet, the things you taught me have [truly] made me the man I am today. Thank you so much, I love you x.”

Fatman Scoop, born Isaac Freeman III on November 28, 1971, in New York City.  His music brings to mind high-energy party songs and club bangers. Known for his booming voice and enthusiasm, Scoop has made a significant impact in the world of hip-hop and dance music.
