Park Boram was a popular K-pop singer who rose to fame 10 years ago with her single “Beautiful.” Four years earlier, she won the singing competition “Superstar K2” in 2010. She has steadily continued to release new music and released a single called “I Miss You” just two weeks ago.
Now we’ve learned the tragic news that Boram has died at just 30 years old. PEOPLE reports that multiple South Korean news sources have reported according to a police report she died on April 11, 2024. Her death was sudden and unexpected.
According to AllKPop, Boram was with two of her friends at one of their homes. Around 9:55pm, she went to the bathroom. She didn’t come back to join her friends. Eventually, one of her friends went to look for her, and Boram was unconscious, leaning over the sink in the bathroom. She suffered from cardiac arrest.
Boram’s friends called the authorities who tried to revive her when they arrived. They gave her CPR, which was unsuccessful. She was transported to Hanyang University Guri Hospital and was pronounced dead at 11:17pm. Her death is currently under investigation. An official cause of death has yet to be determined and won’t be finalized until the autopsy report is completed.
The day after her death, Boram’s agency, Xanadu Entertainment, released a statement about the star’s death. The statement explains, “Park Bo Ram suddenly left us on the late evening of April 11. Our hearts are deeply troubled as we deliver this sudden news to her fans.” The statement continues, “A wake and funeral proceedings will be scheduled after a discussion with the singer’s family.”
