Pinterest DIY Oven Cleaner Works Wonders on Even the Toughest Stains

The worst part about cooking is cleaning up the mess. Seriously. We love making homemade meals from scratch and learning new recipes, but we don’t love the piles of dishes many of those recipes create.

Sometimes we opt for meals that we can make in one pot or on one baking sheet to cut down on the cleaning, but that doesn’t eliminate cleaning. Yes, we have a dishwasher, but the dishwasher can’t clean everything. For example, it can’t clean the top of the stove or inside the oven.

If you like to bake, you probably have the stains in your oven to prove it. Baked on grease can be hard if not impossible to remove.

Sure, you might have a self-clean setting on your oven, but not everyone like to use that setting. It can get your oven really, really hot. While the high heat burns away the mess, it also emits unpleasant fumes, yet with an oven that hot, you wouldn’t want to leave your home while it’s on just in case anything goes wrong.

Thankfully, we’ve discovered an easy way to clean the oven that doesn’t involve crazy high heat or potentially dangerous chemicals. It’s a simple DIY formula that you can mix up with ingredients you probably already have in your home right now.

This popular Pinterest DIY oven cleaner contains 1 and 1/4 cups water, 1 cup vinegar, 1/2 cup lemon juice, and 1/4 cup dish soap. Pour all of those ingredients in a clean spray bottle. Close it with the lid and shake it really well to mix the ingredients together. That’s it. You’ve made a very effective oven cleaner.

Spray your oven cleaner all over your oven. Don’t forget the oven door! Spray everything. Then wait. Come back a little while later and simply wipe away the grease and grime. You might be shocked how easily your oven sparkles.

If you try this mixture and find that the mess isn’t wiping away as easily as you hoped, it’s possible that you didn’t wait long enough. Try spraying it again and waiting a little bit longer. Some very grimy spots may need to be sprayed more than once in order to look like new.

You might be thinking that if this mixture works this well on a disgustingly dirty oven, it would probably work well cleaning, well, anything that’s hard to clean. You’re right! You can use this same mixture to clean your entire kitchen. Heck. Go crazy and use it to clean the bathroom too and that dirty grill you haven’t used since last summer.
