In August, singer and actress Olivia Newton-John, died of breast cancer. She was 73 years old. Newton-John, may be best known for her role as Sandy in the movie “Grease,” but this was hardly her only claim to fame. She has multiple film credits to her name and was a singer long before “Grease.”

Multiple people have paid tribute to Newton-John since her husband, John Easterling, first broke the news of her death. For example, country singer Kelsea Ballerini posted a video on social media where she sang “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” a song Newton-John sang in the movie “Grease.” In addition, Newton-John’s daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, also shared a special tribute on social media, posting a video where she and her late mother sang a duet of the song “Window In the Wall.”

Most recently, Pink had the opportunity to share a tribute to Newton-John, but this time, it wasn’t on social media. It was at an awards show.

The American Music Awards (AMAs) were held last night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and the awards show included a special tribute to Newton-John. A series of pictures of Newton-John appeared on a large screen inside the theater while singer Pink sang the song “Hopelessly Devoted to You.”

Before the performance took place, Pink spoke to ABC7 about how she felt about having the opportunity to sing a song in Newton-John’s honor. She explained, “I had the pleasure of being around her several times, and she was as darling as you would imagine. She was such an icon, and it’s a really big honor to be able to sing her [music].”

Pink also talked to Jimmy Kimmel about the performance on his show “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” She didn’t give away any details, but she did tease that her daughter, Willow, performed “Grease” over the summer, and her daughter was now helping her mom learn the song. Pink added, “It’ll be magical.”

Many Netwon-John fans have turned to social media to share that they loved Pink’s tribute at the AMAs.
