Fans Have Started a Petition to Take the Duggars Off the Air for Good After Josh Duggar’s Arrest

Back in 2015, TLC canceled the show “19 Kids and Counting.” The show ended partly due to the discovery that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s oldest child, Josh Duggar, had molested multiple young girls (including several of his sisters) when he was a teenager. Josh Duggar since apologized and went to therapy.

Yet, the story isn’t over. The Duggar family drama lives on in the show “Counting On” which features the older Duggar children (not Josh) who have started families of their own. Some fans want this show to be canceled too, and they don’t want to see any other shows featuring the Duggar family members.

Why? Josh Duggar was recently arrested for downloading and possessing child pornography. He is currently released on bail and claims to be innocent, but with this track record, time will tell what the truth really is.

One anti-fan of the Duggar family started a Change.org petition to Discovery Channel, TLC, and David Zaslav, the CEO of Discovery Communications. She wants to get the Duggar family off the air for good. She wrote, “The Duggar family should no longer have a platform. TW Josh Duggar molested his sisters and as of April 29, 2021 he has been arrested (by federal authorities) for child pornography. This family should no longer be allowed to collect money from streaming services and television series. Enough is enough. Too many people have been harmed.” She added, “As far as income, the money made by the show goes directly to Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, not to their children. There are many other platforms the older siblings can use to share their stories and life to make a living.”

The goal is to get 25,000 signatures, and so far there are well over 24,000 signatures.

Meanwhile, TLC doesn’t seem to be considering canceling the show. The network’s stance seems to be that since Josh Duggar is not part of “Counting On” there is no reason to cancel the show.

In an official statement, the network explained, “TLC is saddened to learn about the continued troubles involving Josh Duggar. 19 Kids and Counting has not aired since 2015. TLC cancelled the show on the heels of prior allegations against Josh Duggar and he has not appeared on-air since then.”

Do you think TLC should cancel the show “Counting On”? Do you think Josh Duggar will be found guilty? Did you know that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were the ones profiting off of the show “Counting On”?
