Texas Couple Stunned to Find Their Pet Chihuahua Stowed Away In Their Luggage at the Airport

Some people take their time packing for a trip. Others chose to wait until the last minute and quickly throw everything they need in a suitcase. Regardless of the technique, one couple learned that it’s important to double check where your pets are before you close the suitcase.

Jared and Kristi Owens booked a flight from the airport in Lubbock, Texas. They were planning to travel to Las Vegas, and they were planning to leave their pet chihuahua, Icky, at home.

According to Kristi, Icky isn’t the type of dog to need to say goodbye. She does her own thing, so they didn’t feel the need to find her and say goodbye to her before leaving for the airport. They assumed Icky was somewhere in their home and perfectly happy.

That was not the case. Icky actually climbed into the couple’s suitcase.

When the couple arrived at the airport, they put their suitcase up on the luggage scale to weigh it. Their bag was slightly overweight, so they were planning to move a few things around to get it at or below the weight limit.

When the Southwest airlines employee opened the suitcase, they were all in for a big surprise. Icky stuck her head out right away.

Watch the video below to hear Jared and Kristi describe what happened at the airport and how they were thankfully still able to board their flight.

Have you ever had a pet try to stow away in your luggage? Do you think Icky would’ve made it all the way to Las Vegas if the suitcase hadn’t been overweight?
