Patrick Mahomes’ grandfather, Randy, has passed away at the age of 78. The quarterback’s mother announced his death on Instagram. Last month, it was revealed that Randy had been moved into hospice care just over 48 hours before Mahomes secured his spot in a third consecutive Super Bowl.
Now, five days after Kansas City’s heartbreaking loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Mahomes’ mother has shared the news of his passing.
“Hard to find the words of holding my fathers hand as he goes to Heaven. I know he’s in a better place. I love you daddy. Well done, good and faithful servant! Matthew 25:23”
