Game show hosts almost always behave in a certain way. They are usually friendly and polite to the contestants and audience; however, often, game show hosts may also try to be humorous. We’re not talking about over the top late show type comedy, but a one-liner or joking with guests is perfectly acceptable.

Not all jokes are funny. Sometimes someone might not be very funny but they actually mean well and thought the joke was funny. Other times, people try to cover up their insults by saying “it’s just a joke.” It’s not always easy to tell the difference.

On the November 25th episode of “Wheel of Fortune,” game show host Pat Sajak had an outburst that some people are passing off as a joke, but other people find concerning.

In the episode of the popular game show, contestant Darin McBain has to figure out puzzles that all started with the word “kitchen.” For example, one of the answers was “cabinets,” and another answer was “sink.” That’s pretty understandable. Kitchen cabinets and kitchen sink are both things that people actually say in real life.

The incident started when McBain complained about one of the answers which was “oven.” He claimed that nobody really says “kitchen oven.”

Sajak seemed to snap at the contestant saying, “Don’t! You won! Don’t argue, Darin! … You got the puzzle. Ungrateful players! I’ve had it!”

As Sajak said, McBain did get the answer right, so he didn’t really need to complain about it, but did Sajak really need to snap back the way he did? Watch the incident yourself below.

At the end of the show, McBain came in second place, and Sajak took the opportunity to apologize for his behavior earlier in the show. He said, “I’m sorry I yelled at you. It’s just, I don’t remember your mother giving us trouble like you did.” Sajak was refering to when McBain’s mother was a contestant on “Wheel of Fortune” back in 1982.

Many fans feel that there was nothing wrong with what Sajak said or did and that he definitely didn’t need to apologize.

Some viewers think McBain is the one that acted inappropriately.

Some viewers even pointed out that McBain is wrong and that there are multiple types of ovens.

Do you think Pat Sajak’s behavior was inappropriate? Do you think McBain is the one that should apologize?
