Florida Man’s Costco Outburst Over Being Asked to Wear a Mask Costs Him His Job

At this point in the COVID-19 pandemic, we know that masks do an excellent job of preventing the spread of the virus from one person to another. Because of that reason, most businesses require their employees and customers to have a face covering on at all times.

However, as of lately, we’ve seen our fair share of anti-mask people—from the woman at the supermarket who threw all her groceries on the floor to the woman who spit at a 7-11 cashier because he asked her to wear a mask. And let’s not even get started on the woman who threw a childlike temper tantrum in Costco.

Now, meet the newest person who had an outburst over wearing a mask: A man in Costco who got so angry at the employee who asked him to put on a mask that it actually cost him his job.

*Explicit language warning ahead*

The man, named Daniel Maples, works at Ted Todd Insurance…or at least, he used to.

After the video of him freaking out about wearing the mask went viral the agency no longer felt like they could retain him as an employee.

“Thank you to everyone for their comments and messages raising awareness about a former employee at Ted Todd Insurance,” the statement from Charley Todd said. “Their behavior in the video is in direct conflict with our company values and their employment has been terminated. Threatening behavior and intimidation go against our core mission to be trusted advisors in our community. We are also committed to immediately reviewing our internal existing culture at TTI.”

Yep—it was that bad. To see the outburst, check out the video below. (Warning: Don’t watch it with kids around, the language is a bit explicit!)

Do you think this man deserved to be fired? What do you think of all of these people refusing to wear masks?
