These Tangy Orange Cream Pop-Filled Twizzlers Are Back on the Shelves

Think back to your childhood: It’s a hot, summer day. You just got done swimming laps in the pool or playing outside with your friends. The sun is shining down and you’re a sweaty mess. There’s only one thing to do now: Eat an orange Creamsicle.

If you don’t know, the Creamsicle is Popsicle brand’s most tried and true invention. In close relation to the Fudgsicle, which a frozen chocolate-flavored Popsicle with an ice cream-esque texture, a Creamsicle contains a vanilla ice cream center covered by a layer of flavored ice.

This frozen dessert was invented by Frank Eppperson back in 1905. When he was just 11 years old, he experimented with covering vanilla ice cream with frozen fruit juice. He referred to the invention as an“Epsicle” which later became “Popsicle,” and thus, “Creamsicle.”

Creamsicles come in tons of flavors—blue raspberry, lime, rape, cherry, etc.—but one of the most classic is the orange and vanilla flavored one: Our beloved orange Creamsicle. The orange and vanilla flavored cream bar is truly timeless—one that makes us nostalgia for summers of our childhood and are still very much popular today.

In fact, they’re so popular that many companies actually like to create their products flavored as an orange creamsicle. There’s orange cream soda, orange cream cookies, and even orange cream popcorn in existence.

Hershey got on the trend in 2017, coming out with their Orange Creamsicle-Filled Twizzlers. They were so popular that the candy brand has decided to bring them back to store shelves this summer by popular demand.

Just like a classic cream pop, orange Creamsicle-filled Twizzlers are filled with that classic orange cream flavor, perfect for a treat on a summer night. They’re sweet, tangy, and mimic the taste of that Creamsicle you remember from childhood oh so perfectly (and they may even be better than the real thing because they don’t melt like a Popsicle does!).

While Hershey, the parent company of Twizzlers, hasn’t released an official statement on the return of their orange-flavored chewy candies, which was part of their “Flavors of America” campaign.

The campaign also Key Lime Pie Twizzlers among other candy flavors such as California Strawberry Kit Kats, Georgia Honey Roasted Reese’s, New York Cherry Cheesecake Hershey’s Bar, and Hawaii Coconut Almond Hershey’s Kisses. Maybe these will come back too!

The orange cream pop Twizzler candies are sold at Walmart for just $2 for a single back, or a four-pack for under $8. You can also find them on Amazon, but the convenience will cost you: A two-pack is currently being sold for about $15.

We hope Mr. Eppperson is proud of how far his invention has come!
