‘Once-In-A-Lifetime’ Meteor Shower To Take Place Tonight

The night sky can be fascinating. If you’re in an area where there aren’t too many lights, it can be fun to look up at the sky, gaze at the stars and point out constellations.

One thing that makes the night sky fascinating is that it allows us to see past our own world. While during the day we can see the sun and sometimes the moon, it’s at night when we can see stars, planets, and sometimes meteors.

If you like gazing at the night sky and if you like seeing unusual and spectacular things in the night sky, then you’ll definitely want to look up at the sky tonight. There’s a chance that there will be what meteorologists are calling a “once-in-a-lifetime” meteor shower. If things go as hoped, there might be so many meteors zooming across the sky that you’ll even feel overwhelmed and dizzy by the experience.

Grab a blanket or a comfortable chair and plan to keep your kids up past their bedtime if you think they would enjoy this amazing nighttime experience. For the best view, you’ll want to distance yourself from city lights. If you live in the country, you’re all set. If not, you may want to drive out of the city and find a campsite or park where you can view the meteor shower without interference from city lights.

For more information about what to except from the meteor shower and what it was like the last time there was a similar meteor shower, watch the video below.

The best time to view the meteor shower depends on where you live. On the east coast, look up at the sky around 1am. On the west coast, you’ll want to be ready to watch the meteor shower around 10pm.

Are you planning to watch the meteor shower? Are you fascinated by the night sky? Have you ever seen a meteor shower before? Would you keep your kids up late to watch a meteor shower?
