Nicole Kidman Opens Up About Frightening Health Battle After Childbirth

Becoming a parent forever changes your life, and for many parents, there are scary moments they weren’t expecting.
Actress Nicole Kidman has multiple, children, two adopted children she shares with ex Tom Cruise, and she also has two biological children whom she shares with her husband Keith Urban.
Kidman welcomed her first biological child, Sunday Rose, in 2008. What she wasn’t expecting was having trouble learning to feed her daughter.
Kidman, who is now 57, recently explained to Time magazine that breastfeeding her daughter was a challenge at first. She said, “I was so terrified, asking, ‘What just happened? Where’s my milk?”
Thankfully, Kidman had her sister, Antonia Kidman, to turn to for help. “I remember standing naked in the shower, and my sister helped me. She was my source of strength. She’d had five children — she had the wisdom to pass on.”
Antonia is Kidman’s younger sister, and at age 54 she has a total of 6 children. She had four children with her late ex-husband, Angus Hawley, and she has two more children with her current husband, Craig Marran.
The Kidman sisters are quite close. During Covid, they even lived in the same house together. At the time, Kidman told Marie Claire that she asked Antonia to move in with her while Urban was working in Nashville.
She shared, “When Keith went to Nashville and I had to work late nights, I rang Ant and asked her to move in with the girls, and she did, and brought along her kids.”
Kidman was also working at the time, filming the Hulu TV series “Nine Perfect Strangers.” She wanted her sister to move in so that someone would be there while she was on set. She explained, “We never leave the kids. One of us is always there.”
Kidman added that she felt it was “special” to have her sister and her sister’s children move in with her, and it was made special due to the nature of the pandemic. She explained, “It’s the nature of what we’re all having to do now. You get to be commune-like, this extended family where you’re all raising each other’s kids together.”
While Kidman struggled at first with motherhood, her children are now all grown up, and her two youngest children even made their first red carpet appearance when they joined their mother and father at the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award gala. During her acceptance speech, the Oscar winning actress called her children the “loves of my life.”
