New Netflix Film “Operation Varsity Blues” Will Dive Into the Details of the College Admissions Scandal

Operation Varsity Blues was the name for the college admission scandal where famous parents including Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin were convicted of paying to guarantee that their children would be admitted into the college of their choice.

Rick Singer was the ring leader of the operation, and he knew what he was doing. He made the parents feel confident that it was safe to lie to get their children into college. They worked together to pretend that their children were being admitted based on their talent in a certain sport, usually a sport their child had never actually played. For example, Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli pretended that their daughters were crew recruits.

The director of “Frye” and the executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary from 2020 “Tiger King” have joined forces to let us all get an inside look at this college admissions scandal in a new documentary called “Operation Varsity Blues.” The film doesn’t focus on the celebrities that were convicted. Instead, it focuses on Singer. It includes FBI wiretapped conversations between Singer and his clients as well as reenactments of these conversations.
