So, you want to keep your movie list lighthearted and festive this season but need a place to start. No problem! In addition to all the love and cheer that Hallmark is spreading this time of year, you can get into the holiday film spirit on Netflix.

We don’t know what you’re streaming right now or what you plan to binge watch when you’re off for the holidays, but we have a few ideas that will go well with hot chocolate and warm, fuzzy socks. You will find something for everyone in the family with the Christmas-themed movies on this list.

   This Netflix original movie features Vanessa Hudgens in a twin-swap situation that’s like The Parent Trap with a food competition twist. As with many Christmastime films, expect hijinks, romance, and cheesiness.

3. The Holiday Calendar

   Want a little romance mixed with magic? This one stars Kat Graham from The Vampire Diaries as a photographer who inherits a magical Advent calendar that brings much needed change in her life, including true love.

4. Kung Fu Panda Holiday

   Who cares if this runs less than 30 minutes? This animated short is about tradition, family, and lovable Po needing to make tough decisions. Watch the Dragon Warrior Po with your kids or grandkids – over and over.

5. The Christmas Chronicles

   A brother and sister find themselves helping Santa save Christmas after his sleigh crashes. Netflix has already seen The Christmas Chronicles sleighing its most-watched charts in this Kurt Russell-helmed adventure.You may find yourself joining thousands of other fans!

6. How the Grinch Stole Christmas

   Jim Carrey was so good at being the very mean, very bad Grinch who wanted to destroy Christmas in Whoville. We know a newer version exists, but this 2000 Grinch was – and still is – a hit that’s full of laughs.

7. Get Santa

   Poor Santa gets arrested in this British comedy that sees a father and son turn into Christmas heroes.

8. The Spirit of Christmas

   If you like romantic movies with a paranormal slant, then this one fits the bill. It’s about a ghost named Daniel who turns human for 12 days leading up to Christmas. The house he’s haunting and the woman trying to sell it will never be the same.

9. Love Actually

   People find themselves in a love-hate relationship with this film, but you can’t deny this 2003 flick is a classic in its own right. This rom-com is happy, sad, and heartwarming all at the same time.

10. White Christmas

    Considered a holiday classic, White Christmas is perfect for every generation of your family. It’s full of music, sentimentality, and the Christmas spirit.

Don’t limit your Christmas watchlist to Lifetime or Hallmark when Netflix has a slew of holiday-themed gems to offer. Whether you like talking puppies, mistletoe kisses, grouchy Christmas stealers, or sappy musicals, you are bound to find options to get you through your staycation.
