11 Mom Tips That Chrissy Teigen Has Shared With the World

Chrissy Teigen does it all. She’s a model, she’s an actress, she’s an author, and she’s one heck of a mom. She and husband John Legend have two littles together, Luna and Miles. And after being a mom since 2016, Teigen has some sound advice. Over the years, she’s shared some truly wonderful tips that any mom can benefit from. Here are just a few.
  1. Trust Your Mom Instincts

“I will also say that a lot of the fear comes from other people; if I had listened to all of my friends, I would have been terrified of pregnancy. For me, pregnancy was so great.”

  2. Remember Who Came First

“I think it’s really important to be complete partners in crime […] I love the mentality of ‘us against the world.’ Even when you have kids, never forget your relationship as partners and lovers — that’s so important.”

  3. Your Body Will Change

“I look at my boobs and I’m like, ‘What the heck happened?’ They face outwards now. They’re like giant disks. I don’t even know how to hide them. I forget that people are still like, ‘Whoa!’ And I don’t mean to shove my boob in their faces.”

  4. Tired is an Understatement

“It doesn’t matter who you are — even if you’re a sexy R&B crooner or an ex–swimsuit model, you’re just tired!”

  5. Things Change Fast

“The best piece of advice I was given […] is to remember that just when things are great, they’re going to get worse. And just when you think they couldn’t get worse, they’re going to get incredible — it’s going to get amazing.”

  6. Postpartum is No Joke

“No one told me I would be coming home in diapers.”

  7. Tantrums Are Normal for Toddlers—Go With it

“I think we get stuck in our own heads and worried about pleasing other people. You look around and realize that everyone has their headsets on, she’s not screaming or kicking seats, etc. You’ve got to either roll with it or deal with the anxiety of it. We choose to roll with it.”

  8. Flying? Bring All the Toys

“We bring a big variety of toys because one minute [Luna is] going to want something really creative, and then the next she’ll want something really active.”

  9. Remember Why Your Body is the Way it Is

“I have no idea why I still have this bump, honestly. It’s frustrating. But I’m proud of where this entire journey took my body and mind in other ways. I love being pregnant, so so much, and I’m sad I never will be again. But I am lucky to have two amazing little ones who are transforming into big little people more and more every single day.”

  10. Fed is Best

“Normalize breastfeeding is such a huge, wonderful thing. But I absolutely felt way more shame having to use formula because of lack of milk from depression and whatnot. People have surrogates, people have trouble breastfeeding, and all you hear as a new, anxious mom is how ‘breast is best’… ‘Normalize breastfeeding’ is great. ‘Normalize formula’ is great, too!”

  11. You’re a Different Person—And That’s Okay

“You definitely do have to change. You just have to.”
