Do you feel like you don’t have enough time and energy but can’t quite figure out why? It’s possible that some of your daily habits are draining your energy. Minimize or eliminate some of these habits, and you just might feel more energized, less stressed out and actually have more time for things you really want to spend your time doing.
Let’s start with entertainment. We’re definitely not saying that entertainment is bad. We all need to unwind, and sometimes binge watching a TV show is the perfect way to do that; however, BuzzFeed reports that if you tend to watch TV shows where the characters deal with stressful situations, it just might leave you feeling more stressed out too.
That doesn’t mean you need to give up watching your favorite drama series, but pay attention to how you feel while watching it. If you feel anxious and identify with characters who feel stressed out during the show, trying limiting how often you watch this show, and you just might find yourself feeling a sense of relief. Bonus, now you also have time to do something else.

Now let’s talk about procrastination. Sure, it can be easy to put off tasks thinking we’ll do them later, but when we continually push off little tasks, they can really pile up.
A huge pile of small tasks can seem overwhelming and stressful, so it’s better to knock out this tasks as they come or a few at a time to reduce the amount of stress they can cause. As a general rule, if a task takes less than 5 minutes to complete, don’t put it off. Just get it done.
If one of those tasks you keep putting off is cleaning your work environment, that could be causing even more stress. For example, if you work at a desk and don’t keep it neat and organized, the clutter can also zap your energy. If you spend just a few minutes each day organizing your desk, you won’t get distracted by all the clutter, and you’ll find it easier to focus on your work.
Now let’s talk about your health. An important part of staying healthy involves eating, and we’re not here to rant about how you should or should not eat certain foods. The important take away here is that if you wait too long to eat between meals, you might find yourself feeling tired and less energetic.
The solution is simply to make sure you don’t wait too long to take that lunch break. The general rule is not to wait any longer than 5 hours without eating a meal during your waking hours. You can do the math and figure out when breakfast, lunch, dinner and a possible snack would fit into your day with no more than 5 hours between them, for example, breakfast at 8am and lunch at noon.
Another important thing to keep in mind is your posture. Poor posture can reduce your energy level and leave you feeling tired. Doing a few posture correcting exercises or investing in an ergonomic chair could leave you feeling so much better.
These are just a few examples of why you might find yourself feelings tired and anxious. For more examples, watch the video below.
