Domino’s Shares Advice for Keeping Crusts Crispy When Microwaving Leftover Pizza

Pizza is arguably one of the greatest foods to ever exist. For one thing, it’s delicious. But it’s also great for the sheer fact that nearly every time you take out a pie, you have leftovers for the next day. And nothing is better than leftover pizza, are we right?

The only problem with leftover pizza is reheating it can take a while—especially if you throw it in the oven. The oven brings cold pizza to life again, making the crust crispy and the cheese bubbly.

However, you probably want to eat that slice ASAP, so you might be tempted to toss it in the microwave instead. But if you’ve ever reheated pizza in the microwave, you know that it can make the pizza a little soggy.

So now you’ve found yourself in the middle of a rock and a hard place (aka a mediocre piece of pizza). What do you do? Wait forever for it to reheat in the oven so you can get that crispy, delicious crust, or take your chance on a blah piece of pizza after nuking it in the microwave?

Thanks to Domino’s, you don’t have to do either. In fact, the popular pizza joint recently shared how you can have your cake (or pizza, if you will) and eat it, too. Indeed, you can reheat your pizza in a quick, efficient manner, ensuring that it comes out perfect every time. And nope, it’s not in the oven!

In a recent blog post on the Domino’s Australia’s blog, the pizza joint shared a hack that will change your leftover pizza-eating days forever.

“As always, our aim is to give you an amazing pizza experience, so for the love of leftovers we have investigated the best ways to give you a second run at that pizza which may even rival the fresh piping hot perfection itself,” they state in their blog.

Domino’s goes on to explain that when you put your slice of pizza in the microwave along with a half cup of water, the crust comes out even more crispy than if you were to heat it in the oven—and takes much less time to do so.

They state that after just 30 seconds (give or take, depending on the wattage of your microwave), your slice of pizza will be crispy, crunchy, and absolute perfection.

We can’t wait to try this out! In the meantime, in their blog post, Domino’s also discusses a slew of other unique ways you can reheat your pizza. You can check them out here.
