Michael J Fox rocks out at the British music fest Glastonbury.
The popular actor played with Coldplay on guitar, and they performed the hit song “Fix You” together.
Michael J Fox posted about the shared experience on Instagram and the band also posted about playing music with the actor.
Per an article in Variety, Lead singer Chris Martin brought Fox up to the stage. He said,
“With his Chuck Berry riff and the way he punched Biff: ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Michael J. Fox.”
After the performance Martin attributed the movie “Back to the Future” as being a key driver to their band formation.
Coldplay is a British rock band formed in 1996. This weekend Coldplay made history by headlining Glastonbury Festival for their fifth time. The band consists of Chris Martin (lead vocals, piano), Jonny Buckland (lead guitar), Guy Berryman (bass guitar), and Will Champion (drums, backing vocals). They achieved worldwide fame with the release of their single “Yellow” in 2000, followed by their first album, Parachutes. They have won numerous awards, including several Grammy Awards, and are one of the world’s best-selling music artists.
Michael J. Fox, 63, is a Canadian-American actor and advocate. He is best known for his roles in “Back to the Future” as Marty McFly and in the TV series “Family Ties” and “Spin City.” He has also become an advocate for Parkinson’s disease research. The actor had been diagnosed with the condition in 1991. Fox founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which focuses on finding a cure for Parkinson’s and improving therapies. His contributions to both entertainment and philanthropy have made him a highly regarded public figure.
