Melissa Joan Hart Recently Made History With Her Appearance on ‘Wheel of Fortune’

You may know Melissa Joan Hart from “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” or “Clarissa Explains It All,” but now Hart can add something besides acting to her claim to fame. She can add that she is also a record-winning game show contestant.

Hart recently appeared on the game show “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.” She played alongside Tituss Burgess and Lacey Chabert. She was playing for the charity Youth Villages. Hart explained, “They serve families and children across 23 different states in every kind of level, going through foster care and aging out of foster care especially.”

Youth Villages is going to get quite a big check thanks to Hart’s good fortune on the game show. She not only won big, but she also set new records. She is the first person ever on “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” to big the million dollar prize. She is also only the fourth person ever to win the million dollars on any version of the game show “Wheel of Fortune.”

Hart won a total of $1,039,800 for her charity, but in order to win that million, Hart had to solve the bonus round puzzle. The answer was “bran muffins.” Afterwards, Hart said, “Bran muffins. I’m gonna have to eat one tomorrow, I guess. I’m gonna buy stock in it or something.”

The day Hart won the million dollar prize was also the same day as the 25th anniversary of the show “Sabrina the Teenage Witch.” Hart thinks that coincidence might have brought her good fortune, but she believes prayer helped too. She said, “I would like to say witchcraft was involved, but to be honest, I prayed a lot more than any kind of sorcery. I literally prayed every round, especially that winning round. I’d close my eyes and say, ‘God, give me focus and calm and let me just read these letters.'”

Fans of the show were excited to see a celebrity win the million dollars for charity.
