Meghan McCain Announces Her Departure from ‘The View’ This Month

Meghan McCain, the daughter of John McCain, has been a co-host on “The View” for four years. She has 2 years left on her contract, but she has decided that she has had enough. She is officially quitting the show.

McCain has been the lone Republican voice on the show during the four years there, and she often doesn’t see eye-to-eye with her coworkers. It seems that she is done with the drama.

McCain is a new mother to daughter Liberty, and it seems that her focus is now on her daughter and her family, not the TV show drama. She said, “As any new mom knows, when I think about where I want Liberty to have her first steps and first words, I just have this really wonderful life here that I didn’t want to leave.”

She added that it was her dad who talked her into joining the show in the first place. She said, “I didn’t want to join the show, it was my dad who encouraged me to do it. He was right, it was one of the last things he told me to do before he died.”

McCain joked about the drama on the show by saying to the other co-hosts, “So if you guys want to fight a little bit more, we have four more weeks.”

“The View” has always had one conservative host on the show. With McCain leaving, we can only guess who will fill her spot. Previous conservative hosts include Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Jedediah Bila.

Does it surprise you that McCain is walking away from “The View”? Who do you think will fill her spot? Do you think it will be someone with a conservative point of view?
