Matthew Perry Reveals That He’s Engaged to Long Time Girlfriend Molly Hurwitz
According to People Magazine, the “Friends” alum recently popped the question to his longtime girlfriend — and she happy obliged!
“I decided to get engaged,” he told PEOPLE. “Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time.”
Though the couple has been mostly private about their relationship, it would appear the two first began dating in 2018. This Valentine’s Day, Hurwitz shared a sweet message for Perry on her now-private Instagram account.
“Second year being my valentine, but his first as an Instagram influencer,” she wrote, referencing Perry’s account, which was new at the time. “HVD to my favorite.”
Hurwitz, 29, works as a literary manager works for a firm that represents screenwriters, directors and actors. She divides her time between New York and Los Angeles.
As for Perry, 51, he will continue entertaining audiences on the small screen. The actor recently shared an update about the long-delayed and highly anticipated “Friends” reunion special.
“’Friends’ reunion being rescheduled for the beginning of March,” he tweeted. “Looks like we have a busy year coming up. And that’s the way I like it!”
Perry played the role of Chandler Bing on the beloved sitcom, which aired on NBC from 1994 to 2004. Speculation of a reunion has been circling the show for years, and the rumors were finally confirmed in February of 2020. It has been reported the entire cast will reunite for the unscripted special, which will air on HBO Max.
Between filming the special and planning a wedding, Perry will surely get his wish for a busy year. As for now, the couple will be likely be spending another holiday season together. Last Christmas, Hurwitz showcased her comedic skills on Instagram.
“According to my parents’ custody agreement, my mother was not allowed to have a Christmas tree…” she captioned a photo of herself and Perry on Instagram, according to Daily Mail. “Fortunately, there’s no such agreement for a daughter’s boyfriend, so Hurwitz gets a treeeeeeee!!!”
This will be the first marriage for Perry, who previously dated actresses Julia Roberts and Mean Girls’ Lizzy Caplan.
